What We Collect

When you submit our online quote request form, we collect the name, phone number, email address (optional), material type, business name (commercial form only, optional), message, and your call and text consent that you provide. The request is delivered to our business inbox through a Google Apps Script email relay, so Google processes it on our behalf, and Google's servers receive your IP address when the form is submitted. Our website host, Vercel, also processes visitor IP addresses in standard server logs. We use this only to respond to your request by phone, text, or email.

Text & Call Consent

By checking the consent box on our form, you agree that Scrap Metal Exchange may contact you by phone or text message about your request, in accordance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.

In-Person Transactions

Arizona law (A.R.S. §44-1642) requires every seller to show a valid government photo ID, and sellers must be at least 16 years old. We record each transaction, including a photocopy of the ID, a photograph of the seller and of the material, a fingerprint, and the plate of the delivery vehicle, and we issue a receipt. Cash is available for most transactions under $300, limited to one cash transaction per person per day. Transactions of $300 or more, all industrial accounts, copper or aluminum wire 3/8" or thicker, and any transaction involving air conditioner cooling coils are paid by check or money order mailed to the address on the seller's ID. Catalytic converters are held in original form for at least 7 days after purchase. This information is kept in our business records as required by law and is not collected through this website.

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If analytics are added in the future, this policy will be updated and a consent banner will be shown where required.

Data Retention

Quote form submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond to your request. Quote requests are emailed to our business inbox through a Google account, whose Sent folder also keeps a copy, and Google caches short-lived anti-spam data for up to 6 hours. To have your quote request deleted, call (602) 300-1267. In-person transaction records are retained as required by Arizona law.
